Job description

As Finance Officer you are a member of the Corporate Finance team. You will report directly to the Director Finance and work closely with the other members of the Finance team. The Finance Officer is a critical role within corporate finance as they handle all the payables of IDH making sure they are recorded/paid/reconciled in timely manner.

IDH is looking for an accurate and organized team player to join our team. You are precise, structured and hands on. It is easy for you to keep an overview and prioritize your own workload within a fast-paced international environment. You have a background in financial accounting and are a fast learner that masters task easily while possessing strong time-management skills with the ability to successfully meet deadlines.

A proactive individual who likes to be practical with a hands-on mentality with mixing between working within independently as well as being a strong team player.

What you bring:

  • Working and thinking at MBO+/HBO level with qualification in financial accounting.
  • At least 5-7 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of accounting principles gained through previous accounts payable experience.
  • Experience with Exact Globe, Spend Cloud and Excel/Power BI is desirable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
  • Reading skills in Dutch desirable to understand various documents in Dutch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate entirely IDH accounts payable process and related general ledger entries.
  • Reliable, timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, data entry and document management.
  • Receive, initiate, and manage the workflows.
  • Prepare international payments in compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Reconciliations with bank statements and other ad-hoc analysis.
  • Manage pending invoice approvals to ensure payment is before due date.
  • Communicate pro-actively with international suppliers and interact with other IDH teams.
  • Assist Senior Financial Controller with preparation of deliverables for year-end and interim audits.
