Food S​overeignty and Local Ec​onomy

The story of inter-contentedness of the farm, livestock, forest, market and the household is the story of food sovereignty. A change in the equation of each of these aspects with each other can create a different agriculture that would affect the lifestyle, culture, ecology and health.

FARM PROJECTS

Mundie Majhi and Masku Majhi have 4 daughters, living in Sungher Gram Panchayat of Kashipur Block. Mundie’s village lies at the hill top where one can only reach by walking from the nearest road 2-3kms away. Mundie Majhi who was pregnant few months back lost her child in the hospital.

What is Development?

This is a guest post by Azim Premji University students who were hosted by Living Farms for 12 days in Muniguda, Rayagada district, Odisha. Going around few villages and immersing themselves, here is what Sougandhi, Sreeja, Sharat, Aniket, Sravani, Anshul, Nancy, Harihar, and Shahiqa had to say at the end of their immersion.
